Carnival Cruise Line Launches Exciting New Program to Celebrate Adelaide and Auckland Home Ports
Carnival Cruise Line is expanding its offerings in Australia and New Zealand for the 2027-2028 cruise season, with a significant focus on homeports in Adelaide and Auckland. This initiative marks a milestone for Carnival, which is the only cruise line committed to year-round sailing in the region.
Today, Carnival unveiled a new program, committing to regular sailings from key ports such as Sydney and Brisbane, while also introducing its first-ever seasons from Adelaide and Auckland. The Carnival Adventure, after a dry dock in March 2027, will homeport in Melbourne, signifying Carnival’s return to the city after an eight-year hiatus.
Key Aspects of Carnival’s New Program:
- Over 200 cruises planned across four ships.
- A total of 39 destinations to explore throughout Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.
- An aim to host more than 500,000 guests during the year.
Peter Little, Carnival Corporation & plc’s country manager, emphasized that the cruise line is responding to demand from guests in Australia and New Zealand for greater access to convenient cruise holidays. He noted the excitement among families and groups eager to spend time together on cruises.
Local residents, like Adelaide’s Shirley Van Hout, expressed enthusiasm over the news, highlighting that increased cruise access provides a fun and convenient vacation under one roof.
Highlights of the 2027-2028 Program:
- Auckland (May to July 2027): The Carnival Adventure will introduce a new four-night itinerary to Norfolk Island, along with longer voyages to Fiji and Vanuatu.
- Melbourne (January to February 2028): The ship will offer two- to three-night getaways as well as four-night escapes, marking its return for a second season.
- Adelaide (February to March 2028): Short getaway options and a five-night coastal itinerary will be available, concluding with a three-night sail to Sydney.
- Sydney (Year-round): A variety of trips including quick getaways and longer tropical vacations to locations like Moreton Island and Tasmania will be available.
- Brisbane (Year-round): New itineraries will include a blend of relaxed getaways and more extensive voyages to destinations such as the Great Barrier Reef and Papua New Guinea.
Carnival’s newest additions underscore its commitment to enhancing the cruise experience in the region and providing diverse options for travelers.
