Bodrum Cruise Port Celebrates Record Season with a Commitment to Sustainability
Bodrum Cruise Port, managed by Global Ports Holding, has wrapped up a remarkable cruise season, welcoming 116 vessel calls and a record of 138,149 passengers. This achievement solidifies the port’s position as a key cruise hub in Türkiye, recognized not only for its operational success but also for its commitment to sustainability and community involvement.
During the season, various cruise lines, including AROYA Cruises, Virgin’s Resilient Lady, and Marella UK’s Marella Discovery 2, made multiple visits. The port also catered to luxury travelers, hosting calls from Ritz-Carlton and Silversea Cruises.
A highlight of the season was the social initiative “One Day. One Ship. One Future,” in collaboration with Marella Cruises. This program engaged high school students in activities such as a port tour, beach clean-up, and a ship visit, all aimed at raising awareness of marine conservation and inspiring future careers in maritime industries. This initiative contributed to the port being named a finalist for the “Sustainability Project of the Year” at the upcoming Seatrade Cruise Awards.
Aziz Güngör, the East Med Regional Director for Global Ports Holding, expressed pride in the operational achievements and their positive social impact, affirming the port’s dedication to community-benefiting projects and environmental sustainability.
