Virgin Voyages Expands Horizons with Launch of Land-Based Entertainment Production Arm
Virgin Voyages has introduced a fresh entertainment venture called "Screw It, Let’s Do It Productions." This initiative aims to transition its original shipboard shows to land-based performances, staging them at Virgin Hotels and various partner venues. The first production from this program, titled "Booked," is set to premiere in 2026 at Virgin Hotels, alongside the iconic "Scarlet Night" celebration, which will also debut in Las Vegas and Shoreditch.
The company’s CEO, Nirmal Saverimuttu, views this launch as an affirmation of the cruise line’s commitment to high-quality entertainment that continuously evolves. He emphasized that the added creative offerings, alongside enhancements to ship facilities, are fueling robust commercial success for the Scarlet Lady’s voyages out of Miami.
Recently, the Scarlet Lady underwent extensive renovations, featuring 24 redesigned suites, new VIP cabanas, and the introduction of a Chinese-inspired dining option, Lucky Lotus. The ship now showcases a diverse entertainment roster, including "Booked" and "Persephone," a contemporary retelling of a Greek myth.
The "Booked" production was created in collaboration with No Ceilings Entertainment, whose leaders will join an advisory board for the new production arm along with other esteemed theatrical producers. To facilitate this creative process, Virgin Voyages has set up a 30,000-square-foot rehearsal center in Orlando, equipped with replicas of onboard performance areas, allowing for effective workshop sessions and rehearsals prior to performances for guests.
