Rescue Mission Successful: Missing American Cruise Ship Passenger Found After Island Tour Disappearance
An American woman named Ann Evans was located after being reported missing in Saint Martin. She failed to return to her Holland America cruise ship, Rotterdam, after disembarking during an organized tour on November 20.
The local police force, KPSM, confirmed Evans’s safe recovery through a post on social media, indicating that they had made contact with her in coordination with other partners. The troubling event unfolded during the tour when she exited the bus in Marigot, French Saint Martin, but did not return to either the vehicle or the cruise vessel.
Law enforcement authorities alerted both the French and Dutch sides of the island when Evans disappeared. Reports indicated that a woman matching her description checked into a hotel on the French side of the island using her passport and was reportedly seen in the vicinity.
The situation echoes a previous case in September where a 47-year-old American woman went missing after leaving her cruise ship in Bonaire and has yet to be found. Missing-person cases often end without resolution, leaving many unanswered questions.
The Sint Maarten police stated that they would not release any further details, citing privacy laws concerning personal data.
