Oceania Cruises Welcomes the Newest Addition: Sonata Set to Join the Fleet in 2027
Oceania Cruises has unveiled plans for its latest ship, the Oceania Sonata, set to enter service in August 2027. This vessel will be the first in the new SONATA Class and marks the ninth addition to Oceania’s fleet, designed to accommodate 1,390 passengers while providing a spacious and luxurious experience.
The Sonata Class focuses on creating a harmonious environment with a blend of vibrant public spaces and tranquil areas for relaxation. Notably, around 30% of the accommodations will be suites, which include innovative suite categories and renovated Owner’s Suites— all featuring sizeable private verandas offering panoramic ocean views.
In line with Oceania’s commitment to exceptional dining experiences, the Sonata will offer ten different dining venues. Classic restaurants like the Grand Dining Room, Jacques, Red Ginger, Polo Grill, and Toscana will be enhanced with new culinary options, details of which will be revealed closer to the ship’s launch.
Construction of the Oceania Sonata is currently underway at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Venice. A dedicated crew of 855 will ensure the provision of top-notch service, maintaining Oceania Cruises’ high standards of luxury, attention to detail, and destination-centric itineraries.
