Oceania Cruises Welcomes Newest Ship Sonata to Its Fleet in 2027
Oceania Cruises has revealed plans for its newest ship, the Oceania Sonata, which is set to join the fleet in August 2027. This vessel will be the very first of four in the new SONATA Class and marks the company’s ninth ship. Designed to host 1,390 passengers, the Oceania Sonata promises to be the most spacious and amenity-rich ship in the cruise line’s history.
The Sonata Class aims to blend open, well-lit public spaces with serene areas for relaxation, striking a balance between social interactions and intimate cruising experiences. Notably, around 30% of the accommodations on board will be suite options, including two brand new suite categories and updated Owner’s Suites with large private verandas offering sweeping ocean views.
Oceania Sonata will continue the line’s commitment to exceptional dining with ten different gastronomic experiences. While well-loved establishments like the Grand Dining Room, Jacques, Red Ginger, Polo Grill, and Toscana will remain, there will also be new dining options announced as the launch date approaches.
Currently, the ship is under construction at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Venice, where a team of 855 officers and staff will be dedicated to delivering the luxurious and attentive service that has become synonymous with Oceania Cruises.
