Oceania Cruises Welcomes New Ship Sonata to Its Fleet in 2027

Oceania Cruises has revealed plans for its newest ship, the Oceania Sonata, which is set to join the fleet in August 2027. This vessel will be notable for being the first in the new SONATA Class, representing the 9th ship in the Oceania line. With a capacity for 1,390 passengers, Oceania Sonata is designed to be the most spacious and amenity-rich ship the company has ever built.

The SONATA Class ships aim to blend open, sunlit public areas with more tranquil spaces, allowing guests to enjoy a premium cruising experience that balances festive and intimate moments. Notably, about 30% of the ship’s accommodations will consist of suites, including two new suite categories and revamped Owner’s Suites, all featuring generous private verandas that offer stunning sea views.

True to Oceania’s commitment to outstanding dining, the Sonata will boast ten distinct culinary venues. While established favorites like the Grand Dining Room, Jacques, Red Ginger, Polo Grill, and Toscana will be retained, new dining options are set to be announced closer to the ship’s launch.

Oceania Sonata is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Venice. The ship will be staffed by a crew of 855 officers and staff dedicated to delivering luxurious service and thoughtfully planned itineraries that align with Oceania Cruises’ high standards of hospitality.
