Celestyal Cruises Concludes Mediterranean Season and Launches Exciting Two-Ship Deployment in the Arabian Gulf
Celestyal Cruises has concluded its most successful Mediterranean and Adriatic season yet, achieving a 4% increase in passenger numbers and a 10% boost in revenue compared to the previous year. Operating from April to November, the Greek cruise line utilized the Celestyal Journey for 10 "Heavenly Greece, Italy & Croatia" cruises and 22 "Idyllic Greece" sailings. Meanwhile, the Celestyal Discovery executed 69 departures in its 3- and 4-night "Iconic Greek Islands" program.
This season marked a significant milestone with Celestyal Discovery becoming the first cruise ship operating in Greek waters to use a locally produced marine biofuel blend, which has led to a reduction in CO₂ emissions by approximately 21%.
As both ships prepare for their move to the Arabian Gulf for the winter season, Celestyal’s leadership expressed optimism regarding their continued performance, citing successful itinerary expansions, fleet upgrades, and efforts towards sustainability. They noted that demand and revenue for Mediterranean itineraries have reached unprecedented levels and are looking forward to the brand’s transition to Gulf operations, which they believe will grow in popularity as a winter travel destination.
Starting December 6, 2025, Celestyal Journey will kick off the Arabian Gulf season with a voyage coinciding with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The ship is set to offer a 7-night “Desert Days” itinerary, making ports of call including Doha, Sir Bani Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain, with extended stays in Dubai.
Following this, Celestyal Discovery will commence operations on December 12, 2025, for its inaugural season in the Arabian Gulf, presenting new 3-, 4-, and 7-night “Iconic Arabia” cruises. These roundtrip sailings from Abu Dhabi will visit Doha, Khasab, Dubai, Sir Bani Yas Island, and, for the first time, Ras Al Khaimah.
