Princess Cruises Reveals Exciting Renovations to Beloved Ship
The Crown Princess, a long-favored vessel in the Princess Cruises fleet, has recently returned to service after undergoing substantial renovations in Singapore. This is not a mere cosmetic update; the ship now features new venues and an overall more vibrant atmosphere onboard, aimed at enhancing the guest experience.
Lorna Warren, the Vice President of Hotel Operations and Guest Experience at Princess Cruises, emphasized that every drydock provides an opportunity for improvement. The latest enhancements reflect the cruise line’s commitment to evolving its offerings and ensuring an unforgettable journey for its guests.
One of the most exciting additions is O’Malley’s Irish Pub, which replaces the former Wheelhouse Bar. This venue brings a cozy and inviting atmosphere, serving hearty comfort food, including burgers and fish and chips, alongside a selection of beer and whiskey flights. With seating for over 130 patrons, O’Malley’s is designed to foster a social environment without feeling overcrowded.
Additionally, the casino has seen a significant redesign. Gatsby’s Casino now boasts a more modern layout, new slot machines, improved table games, and an updated bar, encouraging guests to linger and enjoy the experience, whether they are avid gamblers or newcomers trying their luck.
Shopping and relaxation opportunities have also improved with the introduction of the EFFY Lounge and Vault, showcasing luxury jewelry and transforming the former internet café into a sophisticated venue.
Beyond these headline changes, the Crown Princess underwent general refurbishments in key public areas, subtly modernizing the ship while still maintaining the classic Princess feel that long-time cruisers cherish. This ship, part of the Grand Class, is known for its calmer vibe and scenic port itineraries, making it a favorable choice for adults seeking quieter cruise experiences.
Crown Princess is now setting sail for Sydney, beginning its Australia season in January 2026 and preparing to embark on an extensive 114-day World Cruise from Sydney in May.
