Ege Port Kuşadası Wraps Up 2025 Cruise Season with Record-Breaking Traffic

Ege Port Kuşadası, managed by Global Ports Holding, has wrapped up the 2025 cruise season with unprecedented figures, marking a significant milestone as Türkiye’s leading cruise port. By the end of December 2025, the port recorded 617 cruise ship calls and welcomed a remarkable 995,303 cruise passengers. Additionally, ferry operations included 1,016 calls, accommodating 187,077 passengers. These numbers represent the highest overall vessel movements and passenger engagements in the port’s history.

Ranked as Türkiye’s busiest cruise port and the fourth busiest in the Eastern Mediterranean, Kuşadası maintained strong demand across various cruise market segments throughout 2025. Notably, nine vessels included Kuşadası in their itineraries for the first time this season, demonstrating the ongoing interest from both mainstream and expedition cruise operators. The port’s strategic location offers easy access to cultural landmarks like the ancient city of Ephesus, which significantly contributes to its popularity.

The exceptional results are attributed to effective long-term planning, consistency in operations, and collaboration with cruise lines and local entities. Continuous investment in infrastructure aims to maintain safety and efficiency while accommodating larger vessels and more passengers, solidifying Kuşadası’s status as a vital stop in the Eastern Mediterranean cruise network.

In addition to operational achievements, Ege Port Kuşadası advanced its environmental initiatives in 2025, launching a solar power installation on the passenger terminal roof. The new system, consisting of 426 solar panels and five inverters, is projected to generate around 312,552 kilowatt-hours annually, fully meeting the terminal’s energy needs and supporting the shift towards renewable energy.

Furthermore, the port has been enhancing its shore excursion offerings, providing cruise passengers with diverse experiences, from visits to Ephesus to various cultural and culinary activities. This focus on enriching shore experiences has transformed Kuşadası from merely a transit point into a sought-after destination for cruise travelers.
