MITSUI OCEAN SAKURA to Launch Introductory Cruise Program in Japan
Mitsui O.S.K. Cruises has announced the introductory operating schedule for its new vessel, the MITSUI OCEAN SAKURA, previously known as Seabourn Sojourn. This ship will begin its service with a series of debut cruises from September 19th to December, featuring a total of 29 voyages. The itineraries will vary in length, ranging from one to three nights, predominantly operating routes that depart from and return to various ports within Japan.
General reservations for these inaugural trips are set to commence on January 19th, with more details on the itineraries expected to be shared through official channels and travel partners. The onboard experience will align with the established service standards of Mitsui OSK’s existing fleet but will also introduce new amenities, such as a dedicated sushi bar and a footbath, enhancing the overall offering compared to the MITSUI OCEAN FUJI.
This move is part of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Group’s broader strategy to stabilize revenue through its cruise division, aligning with its long-term management framework called BLUE ACTION 2035. The MITSUI OCEAN SAKURA is intended to complement the operations of the MITSUI OCEAN FUJI and contribute to the growth of a sustainable cruise business within the company’s portfolio.
