Windstar Cruises Unveils Star Seeker Following Grand Christening in Miami
Windstar Cruises has officially incorporated the Star Seeker into its fleet after a christening ceremony in Miami. This event not only signified the vessel’s entry into service but also preceded its inaugural 8-night journey from Miami to San Juan, with stops planned in the Dominican Republic and the British Virgin Islands.
The Star Seeker is designed to accommodate 224 guests and will initially sail in the Caribbean before moving to Alaska. Future itineraries will see the ship visiting Japan and various destinations in Southeast Asia, highlighting Windstar’s commitment to offering diverse, destination-focused expeditions with its small-ship fleet.
The vessel was christened by Libby Anschutz, daughter of Windstar’s owner Phil Anschutz. This christening continued the family’s tradition with the brand; her mother, Nancy Anschutz, served as godmother to the Star Pride, and her sister, Sarah Anschutz, is set to christen the Star Explorer (now World Explorer) in London in June 2027.
In his remarks after the ceremony, Windstar’s President noted that the company’s hallmark experience is defined by the exceptional atmosphere created by the crew, emphasizing the importance of personal interaction and attentiveness that stem from Windstar’s rich sailing-ship heritage.
