Carnival Radiance to Offer Exciting Baja Mexico Cruises from Long Beach/LA in 2027-2028
Carnival Cruise Line has announced new sailings for the 2027–2028 season aboard the Carnival Radiance, significantly expanding its homeporting program from Long Beach, Los Angeles. This initiative focuses on short itineraries to two popular West Coast destinations: Ensenada in Mexico and Avalon on Catalina Island.
From May 3, 2027, to April 28, 2028, the Carnival Radiance (formerly known as Carnival Victory) will be offering a series of Baja Mexico cruises from the LA/Long Beach area. The itinerary will consist of 3-night sailings to Ensenada and 4-night trips that include stops at both Catalina Island and Ensenada. Additionally, a unique 4-night cruise with consecutive calls at Ensenada is set for January 3, 2028. Passengers can also look forward to a 5-night Christmas cruise beginning on December 23, 2027, which will visit Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada.
These new itineraries reflect Carnival Cruise Line’s ongoing collaboration with local authorities and communities, particularly evidenced by a recent 15-year agreement with the City of Avalon. This partnership emphasizes a shared commitment to sustainable tourism, demonstrating mutual support for both the cruise line and the destinations involved.
In tandem with these developments, Carnival Corporation has embarked on a significant investment in Ensenada, revealing plans for the construction of Ensenada Bay Village. With an investment of over $26 million, this shoreside destination aims to enrich the port experience with cultural, recreational, and leisure offerings. The project is scheduled to open by 2028, pending construction progress.
The new sailing options are crafted to provide a balanced experience of Baja while remaining convenient for those looking for short-duration cruises from Southern California. With the Carnival Radiance capable of accommodating 3,000 passengers, the ship boasts a variety of dining venues and onboard amenities typical of the Sunshine class, making it an ideal choice for entertainment-oriented short cruises along the U.S. West Coast.
