Disney Adventure: DCL’s Largest Ship Completes Transatlantic Crossing ahead of Singapore Homeporting
DCL’s largest ship Disney Adventure has successfully completed a nearly two-week transatlantic crossing, arriving at Port Canaveral, Florida, on January 15, 2026. This marks a pivotal moment in the expansion of the Disney Cruise Line’s (DCL) fleet. Originally slated to debut in late 2025, the ship’s inaugural journey has been postponed to March 2026, representing a shift in operational strategy for the brand.
Following its arrival in Port Canaveral, Disney Adventure is scheduled to remain there until January 27th before continuing on a lengthy repositioning voyage to its new homeport in Singapore. This journey will include stops in Los Angeles and Tokyo, ultimately arriving in Southeast Asia.
Set to commence service on March 10, 2026, Disney Adventure will operate a series of 3- and 4-night cruises that emphasize relaxation with exclusively sea days. This vessel, which can accommodate 6,700 passengers, is uniquely designed as a self-contained destination featuring seven themed districts inspired by various Disney, Pixar, and Marvel properties. Instead of focusing primarily on cruising itineraries, the ship itself is intended to be the main attraction.
Disney Adventure’s introduction follows the earlier deployment of Disney Destiny in late 2025, which offers 4- and 5-night cruises to the Bahamas and western Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale. Together, these vessels are part of a larger growth plan for DCL, which aims to expand its fleet to 13 ships by 2031. The future plans include another Wish-class ship in 2027, the launch of a new ship class in 2029, and the initiation of operations from Japan that same year.
