Cruise Europe Launches Educational Voyage Aboard MSC Splendida: Set Sail for Learning!
Cruise Europe is set to launch a 4-day educational voyage aboard the MSC Splendida, beginning February 7th. This initiative, marking the association’s first of its kind, has attracted approximately 100 participants. The program is organized to enhance understanding of cruise shipping operations, port interactions, and the onboard experience.
The voyage will kick off in Barcelona, where participants will embark on a tour of the port before setting sail. The itinerary includes a stop in Marseille, featuring organized visits to significant sites such as the basilica, the palace, and the old port. Onboard regional meetings will complement an additional stop in Genoa, where members will visit the headquarters of Costa Cruises. This will provide an opportunity to engage with senior management and representatives involved in itinerary planning and destination development.
During their time in Genoa, executives from MSC Cruises will conduct an onboard workshop focusing on community engagement, shore excursion development, and sustainability practices. Participants will also attend presentations on regulatory and environmental challenges facing the cruise industry, including discussions on the Environmental Port Index and its impact on sustainable port operations. The voyage will conclude in Naples, providing members with a comprehensive learning experience that combines industry dialogue, destination exploration, and strategic insights into the modern cruise business.
