Disney Adventure: DCL’s Largest Ship Successfully Completes Transatlantic Crossing Ahead of Singapore Homeporting
Disney Cruise Line (DCL) marked a pivotal milestone on January 15, 2026, with the arrival of its largest vessel, the Disney Adventure, at Port Canaveral, Florida. The ship completed a nearly two-week transatlantic voyage from its construction site in Germany as part of a repositioning journey.
This port call is significant as it follows the decision to postpone the ship’s launch from late 2025 to March 2026. As DCL’s first vessel to be based in Asia, Disney Adventure is poised to take the company in a new operational direction.
Staying at Port Canaveral until January 27, Disney Adventure’s journey will continue westward, scheduled to visit Los Angeles and Tokyo before heading to its homeport in Singapore. It is set to commence service on March 10, 2026, offering 3- and 4-night cruises focused on sea days.
Designed as a self-contained destination, the ship features seven themed districts that celebrate beloved characters and settings from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel. This immersive layout emphasizes recreation, dining, and entertainment, making the vessel itself the main attraction.
This launch follows the recent addition of Disney Destiny, which began operating in late 2025, offering 4- and 5-night itineraries from Fort Lauderdale to The Bahamas and the western Caribbean.
Both ships are integral to Disney Cruise Line’s growth strategy, which aims to expand the fleet to 13 ships by 2031. Upcoming plans include a new Wish-class ship slated for delivery in 2027, an entirely new class of ships to debut in 2029, and the initiation of cruise operations from Japan in the same year.
