Columbia Group Appoints New Head of AI: A Strategic Move for the Future
Columbia Group has appointed Christina Orfanidou as the new Head of AI, aimed at advancing the company’s AI strategy and ensuring its effective implementation. In her role, Orfanidou is set to enhance business solutions that provide measurable value. Mark O’Neil, CEO of Columbia Group, expressed confidence in her leadership, emphasizing the importance of using artificial intelligence purposefully while keeping a strong focus on people.
Orfanidou joins Columbia from her previous position at Deloitte Cyprus, where she headed AI Services and worked on AI adoption initiatives for the European Commission. In her new position, she plans to demonstrate how AI can streamline operations, particularly by decreasing document production times to allow team members to engage in more strategic tasks.
Her objectives include boosting productivity, modernizing workflows, and deploying AI in an ethical manner, all while adhering to evolving global regulations. “AI is not about technology for technology’s sake,” Orfanidou stated, highlighting the commitment to using AI as a tool for productivity and empowerment.
Additionally, she intends to create an AI factory within Columbia Group to develop customized AI solutions. Initially, her focus will include automating repetitive office tasks and enhancing internal operations, such as knowledge management and crewing systems.
