Carnival Corporation to Launch Two New Ships in Europe by 2027
Carnival Cruise Line is set to expand its presence in Europe by deploying two ships during the summer season of 2027. The Carnival Miracle will continue offering its popular Mediterranean and Northern Europe cruises, while the Carnival Sunshine will introduce new itineraries covering the Mediterranean and extend to Africa.
The Carnival Miracle will make history for Carnival by becoming the first ship to visit Africa, making stops in destinations such as Tangier and Tunis in Morocco and Tunisia. The ship will reposition from Galveston to Europe after a trans-Atlantic journey, allowing it to kick off cruises in Northern and Western Europe, departing from Lisbon and Dover. These cruises will include visits to Scandinavia, the Baltic, and the British Isles, along with stops in Portugal, Spain, France, and Belgium.
Later in the season, the Miracle will transition to the Mediterranean, offering cruises to the Greek Islands, Croatia, and Turkey, with notable stops at popular ports like Santorini, Mykonos, Dubrovnik, and Kusadasi. After a summer in Europe, the Miracle is expected to return to North America, coinciding with an early November trans-Atlantic voyage.
Meanwhile, the Carnival Sunshine will also have an entire summer season in Europe. It will reposition from Norfolk to Dover, from where it will conduct new seven- to ten-night cruises spanning both the Western and Eastern Mediterranean, with stops at various ports including Barcelona, Civitavecchia, and destinations across Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Malta, and Montenegro. The Sunshine is expected to head back to the U.S. in November, preparing for a winter season from Galveston.
This expansion reflects Carnival’s commitment to offering diverse cruising experiences and establishing operations in new regions, further enhancing its portfolio in Europe.
