Seabourn Venture Sets New Southern Milestones on Antarctica Exploration Voyage
During a recent 12-day voyage exploring Antarctica from January 28 to February 9, 2026, the Seabourn Venture achieved noteworthy milestones for Seabourn and the Carnival Corporation fleet. The expedition took the ship through the Antarctic Circle, reaching the unprecedented latitude of approximately 70° South, marking the furthest south the company has ever navigated.
In a significant accomplishment, the Seabourn Venture made its first extended journey into George VI Sound, an area typically overlooked by standard cruise routes, allowing it to venture far beyond the well-trodden paths of the Antarctic Peninsula.
At around 69° 30′ South, expedition members set foot on Antarctic sea ice, an extraordinary milestone signifying the most southerly landing made under the Seabourn flag. Guests commemorated this achievement with a ceremonial gathering on the ice. Additional stops included visits to historic Base E on Stonington Island, a former British research station that represents mid-20th-century scientific exploration in the area.
