Viking Cruises Launches Brand Experience Centre in Beijing, China
Viking Cruises has recently inaugurated a brand experience center in Beijing, which marks a strategic move in their expansion into the Chinese cruise market. This facility is designed to cater to consumers in Beijing and northern China, providing them with an introduction to Viking’s cruise offerings and facilitating direct discussions about itineraries with company representatives.
This initiative aligns with Viking China’s strategy to blend online and offline marketing efforts, allowing for a closer engagement with potential customers in major urban areas. The timing of the center’s opening coincides with Viking’s plans to offer eight Mediterranean sailings equipped with Chinese-language services for the upcoming summer season, covering trips that range from 8 to 22 days. Additionally, the company aims to enhance its European river cruise offerings in Mandarin, growing from initial releases in 2019 to a projected 14 itineraries, lasting between 8 to 14 days.
Since entering the Chinese market in 2016, Viking has tailored its products specifically for Mandarin-speaking passengers and has welcomed nearly 100,000 travelers from China. Beijing stands out as a key market, second only to Shanghai in passenger volumes. The experience center is strategically located to allow for easier interaction and consultations pertaining to Viking’s itineraries and travel services.
Viking’s increased presence in China underscores its recognition of the region as an expanding source of outbound cruise demand, and reflects its commitment to meeting the needs of Mandarin-speaking guests through culturally adapted products and services.
