Princess Cruises Breaks World Record for Most Margaritas Served at Sea!
For many cruise-goers, cocktails are vital to the vacation experience, and margaritas are a timeless favorite. On Princess Cruises, passengers can enjoy their cocktails thanks to a mobile Pantalones Tequila cart that roams the decks.
Recently, Princess Cruises earned a Guinness World Record for margarita sales, further cementing their reputation for this beloved cocktail. On February 17, cruise ship passengers celebrated their fondness for margaritas during a special event and set the record for the most margaritas sold in an eight-hour period.
The event, called “Ritas for the Record,” took place aboard the Regal Princess while docked in Cozumel, Mexico. The official count was 3,410 margaritas sold, surpassing the previous record of 2,728. According to a Facebook post from Princess Cruises, passengers and crew came together to achieve this milestone.
Participants expressed their excitement about contributing to the record. One passenger, Debra Pounds, shared her joy at being part of the experience during her cruise.
The previous record holder was Motel Mexicola, a restaurant in Seminyak, Bali, which achieved the feat during a Mexican Independence Day celebration in September 2024.
In addition to this margarita milestone, Princess Cruises also holds a Guinness World Record for hosting the largest pizza party with 11,445 attendees in a simultaneous event across multiple ships.
The margaritas during this record-breaking event featured Pantalones Organic Tequila, crafted by Matthew McConaughey and Camila. This partnership began in 2024 and includes the signature 24K Gold Margarita made with Pantalones Organic Reposado Tequila. Princess Cruises’ cocktail selection also showcases cocktails inspired by the playful “pants-free” attitude of Pantalones Tequila, such as “Pants on Fire” and “Hot Pants.”
This achievement not only highlights the popularity of margaritas among cruise passengers but also enhances the festive atmosphere aboard Princess Cruises.
