In preparation for the 2027 cruising season, Viking River Cruises has announced two new itineraries connecting key inland waterways of North America aboard the Viking Mississippi riverboat.
The primary itinerary, "Bayous, Blues & Bluegrass," spans 15 days, starting in New Orleans and traveling upriver to Louisville, Kentucky. Notable stops include Darrow, St. Francisville, and Baton Rouge in Louisiana, followed by Natchez, Vicksburg, and Greenville in Mississippi. The journey continues to Memphis, Tennessee, and concludes along the Ohio River with stops in Paducah, Henderson, and Owensboro, before arriving in Louisville.
Additionally, Viking will offer an 8-day itinerary running between Memphis and Louisville, allowing travelers to experience this route without starting from New Orleans.
These 2027 river voyages are open for reservations and also feature a previously announced 22-day "Mississippi River Odyssey" from New Orleans, as well as various 8-day itineraries along the Mississippi.
