Paul Gauguin Cruises Unveils Exciting 2028 Schedule Under PONANT Ownership
PONANT’s subsidiary, Paul Gauguin Cruises, has revealed its 2028 voyage program, offering an impressive lineup of 39 all-inclusive sailings that range from 7 to 14 nights. These itineraries cover stunning destinations such as the Society Islands, Tuamotus, Marquesas, and Cook Islands, with early booking fares starting at around $2,880 per guest, featuring discounts of up to 30%.
The m/s Paul Gauguin, known for its shallow draft, provides access to more remote atolls and islands that larger ships cannot reach. The 2028 schedule includes multiple overnight stays at destinations like Fakarava and community engagements in Tahuata, the smallest inhabited island in the Marquesas.
Ponant Explorations Group’s CEO for the Americas, Samuel Chamberlain, emphasized that the upcoming program is designed for travelers wishing to connect deeply with local cultures while exploring the rich environment respectfully. Each itinerary has been crafted based on nearly three decades of experience in the region, enhancing ties with its indigenous communities. The variety of trip lengths aims to cater to different preferences.
Accommodating up to 330 guests, the m/s Paul Gauguin provides a refined yet casual atmosphere, supported by a crew-to-guest ratio of approximately 1:1.5 for personalized service. Over 70% of the staterooms and suites feature private balconies, and the onboard experience is deeply rooted in Polynesian culture, featuring entertainment from a resident group of Tahitian hosts known as Les Gauguines.
The inaugural journey of the 2028 program features a 7-night tour through the Society Islands, including multiple overnight stays and visits to Tahiti, Huahine, Taha’a, Bora Bora, and Moorea. An alternative 7-night itinerary focuses on sacred Raiatea and the lush landscapes of Huahine, along with an overnight stay near Bora Bora.
For longer voyages, options such as 10- and 11-night sails will explore the lagoons of Fakarava and Rangiroa, as well as the botanical wonders of the Society Islands. The longest journey, spanning 14 nights, incorporates the Marquesas, Tuamotus, and Society Islands, providing ample opportunities for both relaxing and active pursuits amidst the breathtaking scenery of white-sand beaches and hidden coves.
