TUI Cruises Now Accepting Applications for Mein Schiff Flow Godmother Role
In anticipation of the launch of the new vessel Mein Schiff Flow, TUI Cruises has initiated a unique campaign to select a godmother for the ship. This campaign invites women from the cruise line’s past passengers to apply for this honorary role at the ship’s christening ceremony, scheduled for June 20, 2026, in Trieste, Italy.
Traditionally, godmothers have typically been public figures or members of the crew. However, TUI Cruises aims to involve passengers to create a deeper connection between the ship and its clientele. To qualify as a candidate, applicants must be of legal age, have prior experience sailing with the Mein Schiff fleet, and submit a short written statement, a brief video, and some recent photos that demonstrate their relationship with the brand.
Applications must be submitted electronically by March 16, 2026. After an initial selection by an internal jury, the Mein Schiff community will vote to decide the final choice for godmother.
Mein Schiff Flow is significant as it is the second vessel in the new InTUItion class, developed alongside its sister ship, Mein Schiff Relax. Both ships are currently being constructed at the Fincantieri yard in Monfalcone, Italy. The Mein Schiff Flow is expected to begin its maiden voyage on June 25, 2026, with cruises planned through the Adriatic and western Mediterranean for eight-day excursions surrounding the naming ceremony.
This initiative highlights TUI Cruises’ commitment to customer engagement in what is traditionally a formal maritime ceremony, emphasizing a personal touch in the celebration of the new ship’s entry into service.
