Robert Downey Jr. Takes on the Role of Godparent in Exciting New Disney Adventure!
Academy Award-winning actor Robert Downey Jr. has been appointed as the godparent of the new Disney Adventure cruise ship, according to a recent announcement from Disney. Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences and the incoming CEO of The Walt Disney Company, expressed their honor in having Downey, known for his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, take on this prestigious role.
In a YouTube video, Downey highlighted the significance of this occasion, stating that the ship, being the largest in Disney’s fleet, deserves a “massive, gargantuan blessing.” He felt it was a privilege to accept the invitation.
The Disney Adventure will feature various themed areas, including a Marvel section where guests can experience rides and shows centered around Marvel superheroes. Notable attractions include the Ironcycle Test Run, which is touted as the first roller coaster on a Disney Cruise Line ship, and the “Avengers Assemble!” live stage production showcasing spectacular stunts and effects.
The ship made its debut at the Port of Los Angeles earlier in February as part of its journey from Germany to Singapore, a voyage expected to last two months.
