Robert Downey Jr. Takes on the Role of Official Godfather for Disney Adventure!
Disney Cruise Line has announced that Robert Downey Jr. will be the godfather of its newest ship, the Disney Adventure, ahead of its inaugural voyage from Singapore on March 10, 2026. This decision aligns with the ship’s emphasis on Marvel-themed attractions, a nod to Downey’s iconic role as Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Downey will perform the traditional blessing ceremony that typically occurs before a ship sets sail, noting that the scale of the Disney Adventure—at 208,000 gross tons and with capacity for 6,700 passengers—calls for a significant blessing. This ship is notably larger, about 44% more than the line’s Wish-class vessels, and features attractions such as the Ironcycle Test Run, a roller coaster themed to his character.
The Disney Adventure will be based in Singapore, marking an important expansion for Disney Cruise Line in Asia. Its offerings aim to blend regional influences with Disney’s classic entertainment, catering to both local and international guests in the Southeast Asian market.
