Emerald Kaia: Scenic Group’s New Superyacht Set to Reposition to Europe for the 2026 Season
The luxury superyacht Emerald Kaia, operated by Scenic Group, has embarked on its journey from Halong Bay, Vietnam, heading west towards Europe and the Mediterranean in preparation for its debut in April 2026. A naming ceremony is scheduled for June in Venice.
Designed to accommodate 128 passengers, Emerald Kaia has recently completed successful sea trials in Vietnamese waters, confirming its performance capabilities. The vessel is expected to enhance Scenic’s Emerald fleet, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. As part of maritime tradition, two long-serving executives from the company have been appointed as ceremonial godparents for the ship, participating in the christening ceremony that will include the naming of the superyacht and blessings for safe voyages.
Emerald Kaia features a boutique design that prioritizes open deck spaces and wellness facilities, typical of modern yacht cruising. Following its introduction to the Mediterranean, the ship will offer an inaugural 11-day sailing from Cyprus to Greece in early April and is slated to travel through the Red Sea and Suez Canal before heading into the Indian Ocean and East African waters for its winter season. Some sailings may also include opportunities to connect with land-based safari experiences.
Emerald Kaia joins a growing fleet of luxury yachts from Scenic Group, with more sister ships planned for the future, further solidifying the company’s position in the upscale, small-ship cruising market.
