Princess Cruises and The Travel Institute: A New Era of Educational Partnership for Travel Professionals
Princess Cruises has announced a strategic partnership with The Travel Institute, kicking off a year-long collaboration aimed at enhancing the professional growth of travel advisors who specialize in cruise bookings. This initiative, revealed in early March 2026, will focus on co-developing training programs and certifications that align with Princess Cruises’ offerings and deployment strategies.
One of the key elements of this alliance is the creation of a new Alaska Destination Specialist Course, which The Travel Institute plans to introduce in the second quarter of 2026 to align with the launch of the Star Princess in Alaska. As part of the agreement, Princess Cruises will contribute funds for scholarships that cover various Travel Institute certification programs, including the foundational TRIPKIT course and the three-tier professional certifications: Certified Travel Associate, Certified Travel Counselor, and Certified Travel Industry Executive.
This collaboration also aims to attract new talent into the travel advising field by sponsoring entry-level webinars and similar programs, while providing recognition and incentives for existing certified professionals connected to Princess Cruises’ training pathways. Travel advisors who complete specific levels within Princess Cruises’ internal training will be eligible to earn continuing education units, crucial for maintaining their certified status.
Both organizations emphasized their commitment to elevating industry professionalism and skill development for travel advisors, looking to enhance the overall service quality provided to cruise passengers around the world.
