NCL Welcomes Norwegian Luna: Newest Addition Set for Florida Voyage

Norwegian Cruise Line has welcomed its newest ship, the Norwegian Luna, at a ceremony held at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. The vessel is set for a transatlantic journey to Miami, marking its debut as the 21st addition to NCL’s fleet. The Norwegian Luna is a sister ship to the Norwegian Aqua, delivered in 2025, and belongs to the Prima Plus class, boasting a length of 1,056 feet, a gross tonnage of 156,000, and a capacity of up to 3,565 passengers at double occupancy.

This ship features 1,809 staterooms, 17 dining venues, and 18 bars and lounges, designed to enhance the cruise experience. Marc Kazlauskas, NCL President, praised the collaboration with world-class architects and the shipbuilders at Fincantieri, highlighting the evolution of their ship design.

One of the standout attractions aboard the Norwegian Luna is the Aqua Slidecoaster, a combination of roller coaster and water slide, known to be the fastest and longest of its kind at sea. The ship also includes an outdoor amusement area, a multi-level obstacle course, and innovative entertainment experiences like "Elton: A Celebration of Elton John" and a cirque-style show named "HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder."

Additional dining options include various global cuisines offered at the Indulge Food Hall, alongside pay-for experiences such as French, Thai, and Italian restaurants. The ship’s artistic design features a unique hull artwork called "La Luna" by street artist ELLE, showcasing themes of adventure and exploration.

The Norwegian Luna will dock at PortMiami on March 23, with a christening ceremony scheduled for March 27. Following this, it will operate both three- and four-night voyages to the Bahamas, as well as seven-night Caribbean itineraries, visiting NCL’s updated Great Stirrup Cay, which recently expanded its amenities and attractions, including a new waterpark.
