TUI River Cruises to Welcome New Ship TUI Elara in 2027: Fleet Expansion Ahead!
TUI River Cruises is set to enhance its fleet with the introduction of a fifth riverboat, the TUI Elara, scheduled to launch in the summer of 2027. This expansion will allow the company to offer a variety of itineraries throughout major European waterways, with departures from key cities including Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Basel.
Named TUI Elara, which translates to "bright" in Greek, the new ship will cater exclusively to adults. It is designed to operate voyages of 5, 7, and 14 nights, covering a total of 15 unique itineraries. These journeys will explore popular routes along the Rhine, Moselle, and the waterways of the Netherlands and Belgium. Notably, the ship will introduce new itineraries such as the Grand Rhine Delights and the Dutch & Belgian Gems, along with the Rhine Delights 2 route from Basel and the Splendours of the Rhine & Moselle from Frankfurt. A significant addition to its schedule will be a port call in Brussels.
Katy Berzins highlights that the addition of the TUI Elara is part of TUI’s ongoing fleet development as they approach their fifth operational year. This venture is driven by a continued demand for immersive travel experiences, allowing passengers the flexibility to experience various rivers and destinations within a single journey. The strong performance of TUI River Cruises in recent seasons, characterized by high occupancy and customer satisfaction, further reinforces its position in the river cruise market and supports its efforts to modernize and expand the fleet.
