Aroya Cruises Wraps Up Inaugural Arabian Gulf Season Earlier Than Planned
Aroya Cruises has decided to end its inaugural winter season in the Arabian Gulf earlier than planned, with all remaining voyages scheduled through May 8th being canceled. The season commenced on February 21st but was cut short due to operational considerations in collaboration with maritime and national authorities in the region.
Passengers who were aboard the vessel were safely brought back to Dubai on March 7th as the company worked to organize their onward travel with airline partners and local authorities. A spokesperson for Aroya confirmed that passenger safety and well-being were prioritized during the disembarkation process. The operational teams will continue to assist guests with travel arrangements.
The cruise itineraries included seven-night journeys across the Arabian Gulf, with stops at various ports including Dubai, Khasab, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Sir Bani Yas Island. Aroya’s schedule adjustments reflect a broader trend among cruise operators facing similar challenges in the region this season.
Other cruise lines, such as Celestyal, MSC Cruises, and TUI Cruises, have also announced changes to their operations. Celestyal has canceled its remaining winter voyages following the repositioning of its ships, while MSC has suspended operations of MSC Euribia after canceling several sailings. TUI Cruises appointed the cancellation of its Gulf departures as well.
The situation underlines the operational difficulties encountered by cruise lines as they navigate logistics and coordinate with authorities regarding passenger movements amid changing conditions in the region.
