Set Sail on Adventure: Princess Cruises Unveils 115-Day World Cruise aboard Coral Princess for 2028
Princess Cruises has announced its exciting 2028 World Cruise, a remarkable 115-day journey on the Coral Princess. This cruise will traverse 49 destinations in 24 countries across five continents, visiting 39 UNESCO World Heritage sites. Scheduled to depart on January 3rd, 2028, travelers can embark from either Fort Lauderdale or Los Angeles.
The cruise will cover approximately 36,000 nautical miles and includes crossings of both the Equator and the International Date Line. Early in the journey, passengers will transit the Panama Canal before heading into the Pacific, with stops in Hawaii and various South Pacific islands like Samoa and Fiji. The adventure continues to Australia and New Zealand, highlighting major ports such as Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland.
Following the Pacific exploration, the Coral Princess will cross the Indian Ocean, making port calls at islands including Mauritius and Réunion. A significant stop will be in Cape Town, South Africa, where passengers will enjoy an overnight stay, along with a unique visit to Mossel Bay, famous for its beaches and archaeological significance.
As the journey winds north along Africa’s Atlantic coast, it will enter the Mediterranean, featuring ports such as Barcelona, and destinations in Sicily and the Adriatic region, including Dubrovnik. A final notable port will be Casablanca before the cruise returns to North America across the Atlantic.
The itinerary is crafted to provide extended time at ports, emphasizing immersive cultural experiences. This will include additional overnight and late-night stays, allowing travelers to explore beyond typical daytime hours. Destinations like Cape Town and Auckland will feature overnight stays, while cities such as Barcelona, Casablanca, and Sydney will have late-night port calls.
To enhance the experience, optional wildlife excursions are planned during the South African leg, with opportunities to visit private game reserves. Shore excursions will focus on cultural and natural attractions, spanning landscapes of the Pacific islands to wildlife experiences in Africa, including visits to significant sites like Fiordland National Park and Table Mountain.
Onboard experiences will include lectures, themed events, cultural performances, and culinary offerings reflective of the destinations. Moreover, members of the Captain’s Circle loyalty program will receive special onboard credit benefits, and travelers can choose from segment options ranging from approximately 20 to 100 days, making it possible to join parts of the itinerary rather than the full cruise.
This innovative approach promises not just a great cruise, but a deep connection to the destinations visited during the 2028 World Cruise.
