Aroya Cruises Wraps Up Inaugural Arabian Gulf Season Early
Aroya Cruises has officially announced the early end of its first winter season in the Arabian Gulf, confirming that all sailings scheduled through May 8th are canceled. The season began on February 21st but was cut short due to operational considerations in conjunction with local maritime and national authorities.
On March 7th, all passengers aboard the cruise ship were safely disembarked in Dubai. The company coordinated with airlines and local authorities to assist travelers with their onward journey. A spokesperson for Aroya emphasized that passenger safety and well-being were prioritized during the disembarkation process, and support is ongoing as guests arrange their transportation.
During the winter season, Aroya’s vessel offered 7-night itineraries visiting various ports in the Arabian Gulf, including destinations in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Qatar. Key stops consisted of Khasab, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Sir Bani Yas Island.
This decision mirrors similar schedule adjustments made by other cruise lines operating in the Gulf during the same period, including Celestyal, MSC Cruises, and TUI Cruises. Celestyal had positioned its ships in the region but has recently canceled the rest of its winter voyages. MSC Cruises suspended operations of MSC Euribia and canceled additional sailing dates, while TUI also confirmed the cancellation of its Gulf departures.
The continued adjustments to cruise schedules highlight the operational challenges faced by cruise companies in the region as they navigate conditions and work collaboratively with the authorities regarding vessel and passenger management.
