Ritz-Carlton Yacht Luminara Unveils Exciting Expanded Itinerary for 2027
The luxury mega-yacht Luminara, part of The Ritz‑Carlton Yacht Collection, is set to expand its voyage offerings for the 2027 cruise season. This vessel, launched in 2025, will introduce new itineraries spanning Alaska and Asia, alongside Transpacific relocation crossings connecting these regions.
The proposed schedule includes fifteen Alaskan sailings, four Pacific crossings, and two extensive journeys that bridge North America’s northern waters with Asian ports. The routes are designed to explore both popular destinations and remote harbors often overlooked by larger cruise ships.
In Alaska, cruises will operate from Vancouver to Whittier, lasting between 7 to 9 nights. Many routes will traverse the Inside Passage, a scenic channel showcasing over 500 miles of glacier-cut waterways with lush coastlines. Some itineraries will venture into Tracy Arm Fjord, where tidewater glaciers flow directly into the ocean; optional private flights may be arranged for aerial views of the ice fields. Other stops may include lesser-known ports like Wrangell and Klawock during the salmon run, offering visitors a chance to observe bears along the shore.
In Asia, Luminara will dock at key ports, including Seoul, Tianjin—the main access point to Beijing and the Great Wall—and Japanese ports like Otaru and Akita. One itinerary highlights a 10-night route from Tokyo to Seoul, featuring views of Mount Fuji and visits to coastal temples. Passengers will also have a chance to explore the Forbidden City during a scheduled 2-day stop in Beijing, along with experiences in Osaka, including access to multiple UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Ernesto Fara, president and CEO of The Ritz‑Carlton Yacht Collection, stated that the 2027 summer season aboard Luminara focuses on maritime exploration. This program enhances Alaskan voyages with new Asian port calls while maintaining the brand’s commitment to luxurious accommodations and personalized service. The itineraries aim to provide travelers with opportunities to explore two distinct geographical areas on a thoughtfully organized cruise schedule.
As the latest addition to the fleet, Luminara joins sister ships Evrima and Ilma. After its delivery in July 2025, Luminara accommodates 226 suites, each featuring private terraces. Onboard amenities reflect the Ritz-Carlton’s hotel service model, including a dedicated spa, a marina platform with direct water access, several pools, and a variety of dining options.
The launch of Luminara comes at a time when other luxury hospitality brands, such as Four Seasons, Aman, and Orient Express, are also venturing into the cruise market. As their ships commence operations, Luminara and its sister yachts will welcome a new era of hotel-inspired cruising.
