Hapag-Lloyd Launches Exciting 2026 Amazon Season Plans

Hapag-Lloyd has officially kicked off its 2026 Amazon season with the Hanseatic Spirit, which embarked from Belém for an 18-day upstream expedition along the Amazon River. This journey, spanning approximately 4,000 km (2,385 mi.), has been a hallmark of Hapag-Lloyd’s offerings for nearly three decades.

The company typically schedules two voyages annually—one upstream and one downstream—both of which have garnered significant interest and are among the most popular excursions in its expeditions. Isolde Susset, managing director of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, emphasized the allure of the Amazon, stating, “The Amazon is one of the most captivating natural and cultural regions on earth.” The expeditions provide guests with an immersive experience of the river while prioritizing the respect for the region’s ecosystems and communities.

Participants on this journey will have opportunities to explore the rainforest, engage in various excursions, and visit riverside communities that can only be accessed via boat.

For future sailings, the Hanseatic Inspiration will repeat the 18-day itineraries in 2027 and 2028, but availability is limited.
