Costa Cruises Revamps Winter 2026-2027 Schedule: Middle East Voyages Canceled
Costa Cruises has announced significant changes to its winter 2026–2027 sailing schedule, deciding to cancel all voyages to the UAE and the wider Middle East region. Instead, the cruise line will focus on revamped itineraries in Europe and the Atlantic.
One notable change is that the Costa Smeralda will now offer 7-day cruises between the Canary Islands and Madeira during the winter months, a first for this ship. This decision comes in response to a notable increase in passenger demand for cruises in the area, known for its mild climate and beautiful coastal views.
The Costa Pacifica was initially scheduled for Canary Islands itineraries; however, it will now join the Costa Toscana in the Western Mediterranean after its dry dock in December. Together, these ships will operate new 8-day itineraries in the Western Mediterranean and extended voyages to Southern Europe and North Africa.
Costa Cruises emphasized that these schedule changes are meant to promote greater stability for passengers and travel partners, as well as to minimize potential disruptions due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
For those who had booked cruises to the Emirates or repositioning cruises on the Costa Smeralda, Costa Cruises will facilitate transfers to alternative itineraries. Affected passengers will also receive an onboard credit of EUR 200, which equates to EUR 100 per passenger. Guests with Canary Islands cruises on Costa Pacifica will automatically be shifted to the new Costa Smeralda itineraries while keeping the same travel terms.
