Bookings have now begun for the 2028 Galápagos expedition season aboard the Celebrity Flora, a vessel specifically designed for travel within the Galápagos Islands, operated by Celebrity Cruises. The expedition program features over 50 all-inclusive voyages throughout the year that are crafted to explore the unique ecosystems of the Galápagos archipelago.

Voyages will offer a blend of marine and land exploration, with activities that include snorkeling with sea lions, kayaking around sea turtle nesting sites, and excursions along volcanic cliffs and serene coves. Passengers will have opportunities to see various species native to the region, particularly the famed giant tortoises that inhabit several islands. Certified naturalists from the Galápagos National Park will accompany all itineraries to educate visitors on the natural surroundings and manage access to the area’s preserved environments.

Designed specifically for the Galápagos, the Celebrity Flora can accommodate around 100 guests, providing suite-style accommodations, diverse dining options, and expedition amenities tailored for environmentally sensitive regions. Passengers can enjoy a unique “glamping” experience on the deck while the ship is anchored, allowing them to immerse themselves in the natural surroundings.

The upcoming program offers voyages ranging from 7 to 16 nights, covering various routes between the central and outer islands of the archipelago. There will also be extended travel packages that allow guests to explore mainland South America, including cities like Quito in Ecuador and locations in Peru such as Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and the ancient site of Machu Picchu.

According to Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises, the Galápagos Islands hold one of the world’s most unique natural environments. She expressed pride in offering these voyages aboard Celebrity Flora, emphasizing the company’s commitment to provide intimate explorations while supporting conservation efforts and local community initiatives.

The conservation efforts are part of the partnership with Galápagos National Park through the “Rewilding Galápagos” program, which invites passengers to participate in reforestation activities aimed at restoring native habitats and protecting endangered species. Guests will be taken to designated reforestation areas where they can plant seedlings under the guidance of park naturalists. To date, over 86 acres of habitat have been restored, with plans for the program to reach the goal of planting 100,000 trees by the end of the 2028 season.

Supporting these environmental initiatives is the Hernán Carrión Nursery, which has been renovated with the help of the Celebrity Cruises Galapagos Fund. This nursery grows indigenous plant species used for reforestation in the archipelago. Since its establishment in 2005, the fund has contributed to ecological restoration projects and community efforts focused on preserving the islands’ ecosystems.

These initiatives are part of a broader environmental strategy known as “SEA the Future,” which emphasizes environmental stewardship, community support, and technological innovation within cruise operations.
