Costa Cruises Adjusts Winter 2026-2027 Schedule: Middle East Voyages Canceled
Costa Cruises has announced that it will not operate voyages to the UAE or the broader Middle East during the winter 2026–2027 season. Instead, the cruise line has revamped its winter schedule to focus on Europe and the Atlantic.
Costa Smeralda will offer 7-day cruises between the Canary Islands and Madeira throughout the winter, marking its inaugural deployment in the region during this season. The decision to shift itineraries is attributed to strong passenger demand observed in the previous winter season, emphasizing the area’s temperate climate and diverse coastal scenery.
In addition, Costa Pacifica, which was originally set for Canary Islands routes, will now serve the Western Mediterranean after completing a shipyard stay in December. It will join Costa Toscana, together offering newly designed 8-day itineraries in the Western Mediterranean and extended cruises to Southern Europe and North Africa.
This adjustment aims to enhance planning stability for guests and travel partners while minimizing the operational risks tied to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
Passengers who reserved voyages to the Emirates or repositioning cruises on Costa Smeralda can transfer their bookings to alternative sailings. Affected cabins will receive an onboard credit of EUR 200, with each passenger credited EUR 100. Those who booked Canary Islands cruises aboard Costa Pacifica will be automatically moved to the new Costa Smeralda itineraries, ensuring their existing travel arrangements remain unchanged.
