Celebrity Flora Now Accepting Bookings for 2028 Galapagos Cruises!
Bookings have opened for the 2028 Galápagos expedition season on the Celebrity Flora, a purpose-built vessel by Celebrity Cruises. Over 50 all-inclusive voyages are scheduled throughout the year, featuring itineraries that explore the unique ecosystems of the Galápagos archipelago.
Each voyage will combine marine and land-based exploration across the islands, with activities such as snorkeling with sea lions, kayaking near sea turtle habitats, and exploring volcanic cliffs and secluded coves. Land excursions will provide visitors opportunities to see local wildlife, including the giant tortoises that are native to the region. Certified naturalists from the Galápagos National Park will guide the itineraries, contributing to environmental education and access management in this protected area.
The Celebrity Flora can accommodate around 100 passengers and is designed specifically for navigation within the Galápagos. Onboard amenities include suite accommodations, dining options, and facilities tailored to small-group expeditions. A unique offering allows guests to experience overnight "glamping" on deck, providing a chance to enjoy the outdoors while the vessel is anchored.
Voyages range from 7 to 16 nights and include routes that cover both the central and more remote islands. Additionally, extended travel packages will be available for visits to mainland South America, including key destinations like Quito, Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and the archaeological wonders of Machu Picchu.
Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity Cruises, emphasized the singular beauty of the Galápagos Islands and the company’s commitment to preserving its environment through intimate exploration and support for local conservation efforts.
Through its collaboration with Galápagos National Park, Celebrity Cruises offers guests a chance to engage in reforestation projects to help restore native habitats and protect endangered species. Passengers will participate in planting seedlings in designated reforestation zones throughout their journeys. So far, the initiative has restored over 86 acres of habitat and is on track to plant 100,000 trees during the 2028 season.
Supporting these efforts is the Hernán Carrión Nursery, which has been recently renovated with funding from the Celebrity Cruises Galapagos Fund. This facility cultivates native plant species essential for reforestation in the islands. Established in 2005, the fund supports environmental restoration and local community development projects focused on ecosystem preservation.
Celebrity Cruises incorporates these initiatives within its broader environmental program, “SEA the Future,” aimed at fostering environmental stewardship, supporting local communities, and promoting innovation in cruise operations, thereby connecting their expedition activities in the Galápagos with ongoing conservation efforts in the region.
