Royal Caribbean Expands Australian Offerings with the Launch of Lelepa Beach Club
Royal Caribbean International (RCI) has announced its cruise plans for the summer season of 2027-2028, featuring an expanded schedule of voyages from Australia and the introduction of a new private destination in the South Pacific.
From October 2027 to April 2028, the cruise line will position the "Anthem of the Seas" in Sydney and the "Voyager of the Seas" in Brisbane. These ships will offer a variety of itineraries, ranging from quick coastal getaways to longer journeys throughout Australia, New Zealand, and the surrounding islands.
Voyages are planned for durations of 2 to 12 nights, catering to both short and extended travel preferences. A major highlight of this program is the launch of the Royal Beach Club on Vanuatu’s Lelepa Island, set to open in 2027. This exclusive destination will become RCI’s first private resort in the Southern Hemisphere and will be integrated into itineraries departing from Australian ports. It is designed to manage guest flow and provide a leisure-centric experience, featuring two beach areas—one for adults only and the other for general use—alongside amenities like dining options, recreational spaces, nature trails, and water activities.
The cruise line’s decision to expand its offerings reflects the strong demand in the Australian market for regional cruising combined with exclusive private destinations. The introduction of Lelepa marks a strategic shift in RCI’s destination management approach, previously seen in other regions.
Notable itinerary highlights for the 2027-2028 season will include short trips to nearby islands, extended journeys to New Zealand, and transpacific repositioning cruises connecting Australia with North America. In addition, holiday-themed departures will be available during the Christmas and New Year period, addressing peak travel times.
