HAL-Holland America Adjusts Alaskan Itineraries: Tracy Arm Replaced by Endicott Arm
HAL-Holland America Line has made significant changes to its Alaskan itineraries for the 2026 season. The cruise line is removing all scheduled scenic cruising in Tracy Arm Fjord and replacing it with calls at Endicott Arm Fjord. This decision is largely due to ongoing ice conditions and geological instability in Tracy Arm, which have made navigation unsafe.
Recent reports indicate that a major landslide occurred in August 2025, further complicating access to the fjord and raising safety concerns. As a result, HAL has reached out to the affected passengers to inform them of this change, updating itineraries to include scenic cruising in Endicott Arm instead.
Endicott Arm, an alternative within the same glacial system, is known for its navigable waters, lush wildlife, and its proximity to Dawes Glacier, which remains active in calving throughout the sailing season. The adjustments are consistent across all Alaska departures for the year, with Endicott Arm becoming the primary scenic fjord experience until conditions in Tracy Arm improve.
