Princess Cruises Unveils Exciting 2027–2028 South America and Antarctica Itinerary
Princess Cruises has unveiled its 2027–2028 South America and Antarctica program featuring the Majestic Princess, with voyages scheduled from October 2027 to January 2028. This exciting season includes six departures across four itineraries that span 15 to 37 days. The program is designed to offer extended port time and scenic cruising through remote areas of the southern continent.
The season kicks off with a lengthy 37-day voyage departing from Southampton and crossing the Atlantic to reach San Antonio, near Santiago. The itinerary includes notable ports such as Lisbon, the Canary Islands, Rio de Janeiro, and Montevideo. Following this initial crossing, the ship will conduct shorter itineraries within the region, including 15-day voyages between Buenos Aires and San Antonio, as well as 17-day round-trip sailings from Buenos Aires that feature scenic cruising in the Antarctic Peninsula.
Throughout the season, the Majestic Princess will visit 19 destinations across eight different countries in South America. Each sailing includes an overnight stay in Buenos Aires and late departures from homeports like Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Rio de Janeiro, and Ushuaia, allowing passengers more time to explore these vibrant locations.
The itineraries grant access to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Peninsula Valdés nature reserve in Argentina and the iconic landscapes surrounding Rio de Janeiro. Passengers can also enjoy scenic cruises through southern Patagonia’s fjords, such as the Beagle Channel and the glacier-filled passages of Glacier Alley. Additionally, planned routes in Antarctic waters will explore areas like the Gerlache Strait and Elephant Island, where wildlife sightings may include penguins, seals, and whales.
Princess Cruises also plans optional land extensions to enhance the cruise experience. These extensions include a Machu Picchu itinerary which visits Lima, the Sacred Valley, Cusco, and the famous Inca citadel, as well as an Iguazu Falls extension that connects Buenos Aires, the stunning waterfalls on the Argentina-Brazil border, and Rio de Janeiro.
Onboard, the cruises will feature destination-focused programming that reflects the cultures and histories of the regions visited. Naturalists will accompany the Antarctic sailings, providing insights into the wildlife and the area’s exploration history, while cultural programming will celebrate local traditions, including Brazilian music and Argentine cuisine.
