MSC Cruise Line Eliminates Tracy Arm Fjord Visits Starting 2026
MSC Cruises has made the decision to exclude Tracy Arm Fjord from the itineraries for its inaugural Alaska season, which is set to commence in May 2026. This change was communicated to guests who had made reservations on the MSC Poesia, with the company citing unsafe navigation conditions due to ice and geological instability as the reason for the alteration.
To ensure a rewarding experience for travelers, MSC is offering an alternative itinerary that includes navigating around the picturesque Endicott Arm, which is known for its stunning landscapes. Additionally, the MSC Poesia will feature scenic cruising at Dawes Glacier.
MSC acknowledged that this modification results from factors beyond their control, expressing regret for any disappointment it might cause. The MSC Poesia is scheduled to arrive in Seattle on May 11, 2026, and will conduct a series of seven-night cruises to destinations including Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, and Victoria, extending through late September. After the Alaskan season, the ship will transition to Florida for a series of ten- and eleven-night Caribbean cruises during the 2026-27 winter season.
In a similar move, Carnival Cruise Line also announced plans to remove Tracy Arm Fjord from its itineraries in the upcoming summer, opting instead to include scenic cruising at Endicott Arm Fjord across its three vessels operating in the region.
