Tragic Incident: Woman Falls to Her Death Aboard Carnival Cruise Ship
Authorities are investigating the tragic death of a woman who fell from a balcony on a Carnival cruise ship near Catalina Island, California. The incident took place on the Carnival Firenze, a large, Italian-themed cruise vessel that had set sail from Long Beach, heading towards Ensenada, Mexico, after a stop at Catalina.
The woman fell from her stateroom balcony and landed on a lower deck of the ship. Family members traveling with her notified the crew about the fatal incident. Carnival has not disclosed her identity, nor the circumstances that led to her fall.
While docked off Catalina, law enforcement boarded the ship to conduct an investigation. During this time, the woman’s family disembarked and returned home. The cruise line stated that their Care Team is offering support to the bereaved family and expressed their condolences.
