Crystal Cruises has unveiled a new initiative called “Boot Walk at Sea,” designed in collaboration with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This summer program transitions the existing charitable effort from land to sea aboard the Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity.
Inspired by the annual Boot Walk to End Cancer hosted by UT MD Anderson, this program allows guests on selected wellness-oriented voyages to participate in promenade walks aimed at raising funds for cancer research. The first event is set to take place on the Crystal Symphony on May 9, followed by the Crystal Serenity on June 2. The initiative aligns with National Walking Month in May, and continues through National Wellness Month in August.
During each cruise, participants can join a hosted promenade walk around Deck 7’s teak track. Participation is voluntary and guests can choose to donate based on the number of laps completed. All proceeds will benefit the James P. Allison Institute at UT MD Anderson, which is dedicated to advancing immunotherapy research.
Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, emphasized that this partnership offers guests a meaningful way to contribute to a cause beyond their travel experience. Moreover, this initiative highlights Crystal’s commitment to wellness and provides guests with opportunities to engage in a broader humanitarian effort.
The Boot Walk to End Cancer has become a notable annual fundraising event, generating over $2 million in 2025 alone, which has significantly supported patient care, education, and cancer research since its inception in 2016.
