Disney Cruise Line has announced the temporary suspension of alcoholic beverage sales at Lookout Cay, its private destination in the Bahamas, on May 12, 2026. This decision aligns with similar actions taken by Royal Caribbean and MSC Cruises, responding to a public notice linked to the Bahamian General Election.
The company confirmed that guests visiting Lookout Cay on that date would not have access to alcoholic drinks, a measure taken to respect the official prohibition of alcohol sales on Election Day. However, onboard the Disney Fantasy, passengers will still be able to purchase alcohol from shipboard locations.
The itinerary of the Disney Fantasy includes a stop at Lookout Cay on May 12, along with a visit to Nassau before returning to Port Canaveral. While alcohol sales will be paused at the island, non-alcoholic beverage sales will continue, and Disneyland expressed appreciation for guests’ understanding in this matter.
This temporary ban on alcohol sales is expected to impact multiple cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean and MSC Cruises, which will also not serve alcohol at their respective private islands on the same day. Several ships, including the Caribbean Princess and MSC Seaside, are scheduled to dock in the Bahamas on May 12, thus affecting a broader range of travelers.
