Introducing the World’s First Open-Air Theme Park at Sea: Set to Launch Aboard a Cruise Ship in 2026!

If you’re dreaming of sailing on a cruise ship with an open-air theme park, your wishes are set to come true by the end of 2026. MSC Cruises has announced the launch of the MSC World Asia, a 1,092-foot-long ship featuring The Harbour, an innovative open-air theme park on its main deck. Set to debut in December 2026, The Harbour promises thrilling attractions including Europe’s first over-water swing, known as Cliffhanger, allowing riders to soar above the ocean while taking in stunning views.

Guests will enjoy a variety of experiences at The Harbour, from the Adventure Trail rope course to the exhilarating Twin Racer and U Drop waterslides. Families can explore an expansive playground and enjoy daily live entertainment, including a Lego Parade. The park will also come alive at night, extending the fun long after sunset. Steve Leatham, MSC Cruises’ Vice President of Entertainment, expressed excitement over the range of activities, stating, "Onboard MSC World Asia, family entertainment will reach new heights – bigger, bolder, and more innovative than ever."

MSC, recognized for being a budget-friendly cruise option, is known for its entertainment offerings, including zip lines and water parks. Adding to its legacy, MSC World Asia will feature the Tree of Life @The Spiral, which will be the world’s longest dry slide at sea, taking riders down 12 decks and across 266 feet in mere seconds.

In addition to The Harbour, MSC World Asia is enriching its Family Aventura District with other entertainment venues. The Clubhouse will feature bumper cars, roller skating, a Lego Family Zone, and live interactive games, making it suitable for all ages. For younger guests, Doremiland will be a 10,000-square-foot area designed for babies and teens, complete with themed rooms and gaming experiences.

An exciting highlight of the cruise will be the MSC Luna Park Arena, a revolutionary virtual arena where floors facilitate interactive gaming. The ship also caters to adults with over 40 bars, lounges, and cafes, including a sports bar and a contemporary Champagne bar.

MSC World Asia is one of four vessels in MSC’s World class, alongside MSC World Atlantic, MSC World Europa, and MSC World America. After its launch, it will primarily cruise the Western Mediterranean, with stops in iconic cities such as Barcelona, Marseille, Valletta, and Naples. Passengers can expect an average fare of around $700 per person for a seven-night cruise.
