Tragic Discovery: Cruise Ship Passenger Found Dead on Caribbean Island After Mysterious Hike Disappearance

The body of a cruise ship passenger was discovered on the eastern Caribbean island of St. Kitts and Nevis after he went missing during a hike. Wang Zyuan, a 33-year-old Chinese national, was last spotted on May 27 while hiking the Mount Liamuiga trail. Local authorities reported that search crews found his body after several days of searching the area.

According to police, Wang had contacted emergency services that afternoon to report he was lost, but communication was lost shortly after. In their official statement, the police conveyed their condolences and requested the public refrain from speculation, advising reliance solely on official sources for accurate information as investigations continue.

Wang was hiking alone on the Mount Liamuiga trail, known for its challenging terrain which can be muddy and slippery, as noted by a Caribbean cruise company promoting the trail on its website. The trail is situated on Mount Liamuiga, a dormant volcano that stands as the highest peak on St. Kitts at nearly 3,800 feet.

Authorities have not disclosed further details about the circumstances surrounding Wang’s death, and the investigation remains ongoing.
