Norwegian Cruise Line has shared exciting updates regarding the recent refurbishments to the Norwegian Jade and Norwegian Gem. Both ships underwent routine drydocks in April before resuming service in May.
Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line, emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing the guest experience, stating that the new transformations on these ships reflect their dedication to providing personalized vacation options. Noteworthy changes include new adult-only outdoor spaces and tranquil relaxation areas designed for ultimate relaxation at sea.
Both ships now feature a refreshed Thermal Suite in the Mandara Spa and Salon, boasting more hot tile loungers, an upgraded reception area, and improved steam rooms and saunas. New wellness experiences have been introduced, including:
- A charcoal sauna with radiant heat
- An ice room
- A salt room
- An IV lounge
- Four-senses loungers
The Jade has also added new experiential showers, equipped with multiple water jets and lighting effects, alongside a plunge pool for invigorating cold-water immersion. Meanwhile, the Gem’s hot tub and thalassotherapy pool have been updated.
Moreover, the Vibe Beach Club has been created on both ships, transforming an existing sundeck into an area featuring over 50 lounge chairs and seven new private cabanas. The Jade has also welcomed a licensed Starbucks store.
Currently, the Jade is operating seven-day itineraries from Vancouver, British Columbia, and Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska, through late summer 2026. The Gem is offering voyages to the Mediterranean and Greek Isles, departing from Rome or Venice and stopping at various notable ports, including Cannes, Florence, and Dubrovnik. In late 2026, the Gem will cruise to the Caribbean and Bahamas from Tampa, Florida, while the Jade will reposition to Asia.
