Antarpply Announces Plans to Introduce New Boutique Ship to Its Fleet by 2027

Antarpply Expeditions has revealed plans to enhance its fleet with the addition of a new expedition ship, Aureum, set to debut for the 2027-28 Antarctica season. This boutique vessel will cater to just 36 passengers, offering a more intimate cruise experience.

Equipped with hybrid propulsion technology, the Aureum aims to minimize emissions and noise pollution. As an expedition yacht, it will not only facilitate small-group explorations but will also be available for private charters. Antarpply has emphasized that the new ship will embody the values of comfort and adventure that define the brand.

The Aureum will feature 22 guest staterooms, a lounge, and a dining room, along with recreational facilities like a mudroom, two observation decks, and an area for relaxation that includes a sauna and hot tub. This ship signifies a pivotal moment for Antarpply, marking a continuation of its journey alongside the Ushuaia, its current vessel built in 1970, which has recently undergone refurbishment.

The Ushuaia is scheduled to operate 17 expeditions during the 2027-28 season, with itineraries including trips to the Antarctic Peninsula and South Georgia. Meanwhile, the Aureum will contribute with five additional cruises within the same timeframe.

The new ship is expected to be managed in collaboration with Secret Atlas as part of a long-term strategic partnership. Detailed information about the ship’s specifics and potential acquisition remains undisclosed, but the company has also hinted at plans for a third ship named Spirit of Sydney.
